In most cases, your pH meter electrode will have a protective plastic sleeve/cap. Put enough Essentials Meter Store solution into the sleeve/cap and insert the electrode making sure it is completely covered with solution. Adding a small piece of sponge (supplied) soaked in Essentials Meter Store, placed in the sleeve/cap, will help maintain protection. Place the meter or electrode upright so that the storage solution does not spill out.

When you need to use your meter or electrode, simply rinse it in clean water for 10-15 seconds to remove the storage solution. The meter is now ready to take readings.
